Total Trust in God
For most kids growing up, all they had to think about was how their parents will do this and that for them, They knew they could trust their parents to provide for them even when times were hard. They slept with no worries. They never bothered about where their next meal will come from or whether they will have a place to stay. It is the kind of peace a child has trusting their parents to be always there for them.
Who do you trust to see you through this life? Your money, your spouse, your banker, your parents, your church, your Pastor, your friends, or your parents? Jeremiah 17:7-8 says ....."“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes;its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” We are encouraged here to put our total trust in God as He is the source of our sustenance.
In the bible, we have stories and stories of how God provided for people who put their trust in God. How the Israelites always got whatever they needed for their sustenance, be it manna, quail, water, deliverance from the enemy and so on. All they had to do was trust God to provide for them. Kings 4:1-7 tells the story of the widow and Elisha and of how God provided at the brink of scarcity. Psalms 34:10 says..." The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing."
Many at times we worry a lot about a lot of things that of course we have cause to worry about. It can be our finances, health, family issues and so many other issues. Yes it necessary that we find solutions to our life's issues but we also need to learn to commit it in God's care and trust that His perfect will will be done. Proverbs 3: 5-6 says ..."Trust in the Lord with all your hear and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
It is not easy to trust God when we see the problems everywhere and there seem to be no way out. Sometimes it seems like being tied up and not being able to prevent a cup of coffee from tipping off a table and spilling on your carpet to put it mildly. The frustration and anxiety is really unnerving but we are still admonished to put our trust in God. Isaiah 41:10 ..."Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." When we put our total trust in God our problems seem to disappear like the red sea parting for the Israelites when all seemed lost. Its like God saying ..."I got you! Just take it easy"
As we go through life, let's learn to trust God more to provide for us and sustain us
